'Do I really have a comic face?': Rowan Atkinson reveals he doesn't believe in his ability to do physical comedy

“I don’t see it as a comic instrument when I’m looking in the mirror. And I certainly don’t stand in front of mirrors pulling faces. The last time I sort of checked it was probably in 1976, when I had to do a purely visual short comic sketch for a revue in Oxford. But since then I suppose I’ve just hoped that whatever I think my face is doing, it is doing.”

Having been to the Wyndam's Theatre many many times however, this time was really something special. To see a play with Rowan Atkinson playing the lead was what I, my two Son's aged 16 & 23 and my wife were looking forward too.

This amazing Actor who's career i have followed since the days of "Not the Nine O'clock News" was before us with his most oustanding quirky cast members and Richard Eyre's remarkable production a performance I shall never forget & nor will the rest of the family. The play transforms you into there world very quickly and never releases you until you are out on the busy streets of London, to do that, is a very rare thing indeed. I left that theatre with a tear in my eye realising that Rowan has moved on, no more Blackadder, Mr Bean, Johnny English..... but far more better.... Mr Rowan Atkinson.
